Denison International Relief Effort

The Denison International Relief Effort (DIRE) is a DCA committee that helps the victims of global disasters, whether manmade or natural. DIRE raises funds for the victims and immediate survivors as well as for resources for reconstruction. We work to increase student and community awareness of the culture, political situation, economic realities, and environment of the area in need. Our fundraising includes Many Moons, candy-grams, and the preparing and serving of an ethnic meal. DIRE's efforts have touched the lives of people in Afghanistan, India, Turkey, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. DIRE also works to aid students in their individual volunteer efforts.
